Tony Cascarino has written in The Times that Leicester City star Youri Tielemans is a better midfielder than Tanguy Ndombele of Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Chelsea striker made the comments following Tielemans’s performance for Leicester against the Blues at the weekend.
The 24-year-old scored a wonderful goal in the final of the FA Cup to help the Foxes win 1-0.
Cascarino has said that it amazes him that no bigger club signed the Belgium international before his loan deal from AS Monaco was made permanent in 2019, saying that he is a better player than Ndombele, who moved to Tottenham from Lyon in 2019.
The talkSPORT pundit wrote in The Times: “After a successful loan spell with Leicester City in 2019, Youri Tielemans was available from Monaco for £40 million.
“Leicester were concerned that a more financially powerful club might move for him — it still amazes me that no club did.
“The 24-year-old is one of the best midfielders in the league and is better than Tanguy Ndombele, who cost Tottenham £55 million at about the same time.”

Tielemans has been superb for Leicester since his move to the King Power Stadium and has established himself as one of the better midfielders in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old plays consistently well, and, as he showed against Chelsea, he can also turn on the style against the best teams.
The midfielder has scored six goals and provided four assists in the Premier League this season, and scored three goals and gave six assists in the league during the 2019-20 campaign.
