The West Ham United winger looks set for Aston Villa despite links with Sheffield Wednesday and others.

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal says his side were never interested in signing West Ham United’s Aston Villa-bound winger Robert Snodgrass.
Sky Sports reports that Snodgrass will undergo a medical at Villa on Friday, seven months after West Ham bought him for £7.5 million.
And though Wednesday are one of several clubs linked with a move for the 29-year-old throughout the summer transfer window (Sunday People), when asked about his alleged interest in the player, Carvalhal told Friday’s press conference, broadcast via the Owls’ official Facebook page: “Listen, I never talk (about) players who do not belong to our squad. (But) I will (make an) exception on this occasion, just to clarify.

“Never (did) we mention this player. Never. First, it’s not a question of the (quality) of the player. First, because we don’t have money to bring him. So when we think we (have identified) good players and we want them, but we see that we don’t have the money to bring them, why (would) we put them into consideration?
“It’s why Snodgrass never was in our plans, not (because of his quality but because of) the financial situation. It’s the same if you ask me if we put into consideration (Eden) Hazard from Chelsea.”
Before signing for West Ham, Snodgrass was on the books of Hull City, where he worked under Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce.

When asked about the rumour Carvalhal declined to comment, but reiterated his desire to see the transfer window close before the season begins.
Wednesday have brought in two new faces this summer and are expected to add to their squad before next Thursday’s deadline.
Should the Owls be envious of Aston Villa’s imminent move for West Ham’s Snodgrass?
