The Brazilian defender has formed a resilient partnership alongside Ben White at the back. With the duo being a key part of Arsenal’s ascent up the Premier League table in recent weeks.
Even with the pair shipping four against Liverpool, Arsenal fans on social media were not too critical of Gabriel and White’s display in Merseyside. And the 23-year-old received praise on social media later in the weekend.
Gabriel took to his official Instagram account to send a message to supporters after the defeat. With the former Lille star posting: “Painful defeat, but we keep our heads held high and focused for the next weekend! Thanks to all the fans for support.”
Indeed, the centre-back is a fan favourite at Arsenal, and Gabriel’s quality will no doubt make the Brazilian a part of the club’s defence for many years to come.
