Peter Schmeichel has praised Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and stated that ‘it’s the same kind of principle’ when he was compared to Manchester United icon, Eric Cantona.
The claim was made by Richard Keys who suggested that the England captain is ‘Cantona-like’ in his play.
Whilst the team trophies elude the 29-year-old, from an individual standpoint, he is going to become very rich in that department, for both club and country.

During England’s World Cup exit heartache, Kane levelled with Wayne Rooney to become his nation’s all-time leading top-scorer (52), but of course, he missed THE chance to surpass it, which would have been a very, very crucial goal.
Then there is THAT Alan Shearer record!
One of the best number nine’s in the world, Kane is someone admired by many, despite his lack of trophy success, as Richard Keys and Peter Schmeichel praised him, as they told beIN SPORTS.
“Is he Cantona like, Kane,” asked Keys, to which Schmeichel responded: “Kane is a little bit like Eric, but it was the same kind of principle.
“I think the work he does for the team. He changes games.”

KANE’S NEXT CONTRACT
The Tottenham academy product has around 18 months left on his current Spurs deal and questions will be asked if he signs on the dotted line.
A lot will probably depend on a certain Antonio Conte, who himself is now starting talks over a new deal.
If those end in a positive fashion and it results in the Italian extending his stay in north London, then there is no reason why Kane shouldn’t stay put.
Yes, he’s in the last runnings to try and win a trophy and he could go elsewhere, but Spurs aren’t going to get a better chance than the man in their dugout right now.
