Rubin Kazan’s general director has admitted that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia will be sold if they receive a bid of around £18 million, speaking to Soccer RU of the Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur target.

Barely a day went by without Rubin Kazan’s Georgian international being linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.

It wasn’t just paper talk either.

Kvaratskhelia himself admitted that he had held talks regarding a potential big-money move to Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds.

The winger’s agent, meanwhile, confirmed that both Tottenham and Crystal Palace had shown an interest too, along with Serie A powerhouses Juventus.

Could Kvaratskhelia move to the Premier League in January?

Things have gone quiet recently, however, with Kvaratskhelia’s form dipping since September’s transfer deadline.

But while Rubin Kazan are hoping to retain the 20-year-old’s services until the end of this season at least, general director Rustem Saimanov admits that turning down a multi-million bid would be easier said than done.

“What if they offer 20 million (euros) for him? (Then) I can’t refuse,” Saimanov says.

Kvaratskhelia, who has been likened to both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery due to his searing pace and eye for goal, was expected to leave for a new club in a major European league over the summer.

His father even admitted that he was ‘100 per cent’ certain that Kvaratskhelia would be on his way out of the Kazan Arena. Flash forward to late-December and, with his form not what it was during a breakthrough 2020/21 campaign, it remains to be seen whether Leeds, Spurs and Crystal Palace come calling again in the New Year.

Former Premier League winner Andrei Kanchelskis suggested earlier this week that former employers Everton could do worse than to take a look at Kvaratskhelia.

The Tbilisi-born starlet, he added, would also fit in at Southampton.
