‘Can we recall him’: Some Tottenham fans react to what 3-goal ace just said after loan exit

Troy Parrott has told the MK Citizen that he expects to score every time he features while on loan with MK Dons, sparking some Tottenham Hotspur fans to react on social media.

Parrott joined the League One side on a season-long deal in July and has scored three goals in eight appearances. He struck his latest with a 40th-minute penalty at home to Wycombe Wanderers to win the game on Saturday.

The 19-year-old kept calm to convert past David Stockdale after Anthony Stewart upended the onrushing Republic of Ireland international. Parrott had further chances to score, but narrowly missed the mark from the edge of the box in the first-half. While Stockdale later got down smartly to deny the Spurs prospect a first career brace during a first-team fixture.

Parrott eyes more goals at MK Dons

Parrott could boast a four-in-eight haul with MK Dons after the EFL marked the Tottenham prospect’s effort against Gillingham as a Max Ehmer own goal. He will go in search of more against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night, as boss Liam Manning eyes the top of the table.

MK Dons are third, just a point shy of Wigan and Sunderland, and have only lost once with Parrott featuring. The teenager is relishing his time at Stadium MK so far, with chances to impress flowing and his confidence building.

“In every game, I’ve had plenty of chances to score and that excites me a lot,” Parrott said. “It gives me confidence coming onto the pitch that the boys around me going to create chances for me, and likewise me for them.

“I am enjoying it a lot [and] things are going well, so far. Obviously, I have a couple of goals. I’d like a lot more, but I take confidence from the ones I’ve got and I’m enjoying it a lot.”

But some Tottenham fans reacting to Parrott’s comments on social media have wondered what he could offer in north London. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have only scored four goals over their opening six Premier League games.

Never have Spurs scored more than once in a top-flight fixture under the Portuguese. Instead, enjoying their best hauls against Pacos de Ferreira (3-0) and Stade Rennes (2-2) in the Europa Conference League. They also drew 2-2 with Wolves in the Carabao Cup before winning the tie on penalties.

Harry Kane has also netted all three of his goals in the Europa Conference League (2) or EFL Cup (1). While joint top-scorer Heung-Min Son has scored all three of his in the top-flight. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele the only others to net with one each.
