Adam Lallana has raved about his Brighton and Hove Albion teammate Alexis Mac Allister in The Times amid speculation that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur want to sign the Argentina international midfielder.
Former Liverpool midfielder Lallana has been impressed by how Mac Allister, on the radar of Tottenham, has done for Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup so far.
Argentina have reached the semi-finals of the World Cup and will take on Croatia for a place in the final.
Mac Allister, 23, has been a key figure in the team.
Italian outlet L’Interista have reported that Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have joined Inter Milan in the race to sign Mac Allister.
Adam Lallana on Tottenham target Alexis Mac Allister
Lallana said about Mac Allister: “He can play anywhere in midfield. He can be a No 10, although Graham Potter played him as a No 6 in a double pivot at the end of last season at Brighton.
“Roberto De Zerbi, our new manager, has continued with him in that role and, for Argentina, he is more of a No 8.
“The goal he scored in their win over Poland showed how he can excel in that advanced position and he has chipped in with important goals at club level also this season.”

Could a transfer happen in January?
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to be able to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.
Brighton are an established club in the Premier League and are doing well at the moment.
Yes, the Seagulls do tend to sell their best players, but we think that Tottenham will have to wait until the end of the season to snap up the 23-year-old Argentina international midfielder, who could end up winning the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
