Daniele Orsato has been selected by FIFA to referee the 2022 Qatar World Cup Semi-Final clash between Argentina and Croatia this Tuesday at 7pm.
It will be the 47-year-old’s third game as a referee at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Orsato took control of the opening game in the tournament between hosts Qatar and Ecuador.
The Italian was then in charge of officiating the match between Argentina and Mexico in the group stage.
Orsato did not feature in any of the Round of 16 ties or the quarter-finals.
The 47-year-old returns for the semi-finals and is also being tipped to charge of the final.

Daniele Orsato is one of the best and most notable referees around.
The Italian officiated his first Serie C game back in 2002, and by 2007 he was taking charge of games in Serie A.
Orsato has since gone from strength to strength and has enhanced his reputation over the years.
The 47-year-old has officiated over 250 games in Serie A and has been a UEFA Champions League referee since 2012.
Orsato was in charge of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
A FIFA referee since 2010, Orsato has gone on record saying that he always wanted to become an electrician growing up as a boy and studied at the Trissino vocational training centre.
The Italian has officiated three Coppa Italia finals well.
Orsato has officiated an Argentina game only once – at this year’s Qatar World Cup against Mexico.
It ended in a 2-0 win for the South American giants.
Five yellow cards were handed out in that game.
Orsato has refereed three Croatia games in total so far in his career.
Croatia won two of them – against the Czech Republic and Hungary – and lost one.
That was against England at Euro 2020.
In the match between Qatar and Ecuador, the Italian referee handed out six yellow cards and gave a penalty.
