Can Mudryk play in the Europa League for Arsenal? Many fans have asked this on Google after the Gunners sent a £55m bid to Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Ukrainian giants have rejected Arsenal’s opening offer – according to the Evening Standard – although the north Londoners are already preparing a second bid as Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign the 21-year-old.

If the Spaniard and Edu – Director of Football at the Emirates Stadium – manage to strike a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk, many will be keen to see the Ukraine international playing in Europe.

So, can Mudryk play in the Europa League for Arsenal? Let’s take a look…

Can Mudryk play in the Europa League for Arsenal?

To put it simply, yes.

Despite making six appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League this season, Mudryk is still eligible to take part in another UEFA competition should he complete a move to Arsenal.

There is no risk of the Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 being cup tied if he joins the Gunners, as UEFA rules state that three new players can be registered for the knockout stages of their competitions, as long as the paperwork is submitted by February 2nd.

UEFA’s official website states: “As of the round of 16, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registration must be completed by 2nd February 2023 at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.

“Any or all of the players from the above quota of three may have been fielded for another club in the qualifying phase, play-offs or group stage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League.”

In his six Champions League appearances so far this season, Mudryk has shone.

The Ukrainian wonderkid has scored three goals while also providing two assists, including a rocket of a strike as Shakhtar Donetsk recorded a 1-1 draw with Celtic in Glasgow.

Be sure to keep an eye on the saga surrounding Mudryk, as Arsenal prepare an improved bid.
