The Gunners handed Chelsea £12m for the 2021 UEFA Men’s Player of the Year after failing to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with the 31-year-old’s experience likely to be invaluable as Arsenal attempt to win the Premier League title.

Arsenal’s new No.20 has won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League during his time in west London, so he knows what it takes to win trophies.

However, some Arsenal fans are wondering if the paperwork was completed in time for their latest signing to play at Goodison Park this Saturday.

Well, to put it simply, yes – Jorginho can play against Everton this weekend.

Arsenal needed to submit the necessary paperwork to the Premier League by Thursday – according to the Evening Standard – so after wrapping up the deal pretty early on Tuesday, that is expected to have been done.

Whether Mikel Arteta chooses to hand Jorginho his debut is another matter.

Arsenal are currently on a 13-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, only suffering one defeat which came in a 3-1 loss against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in September.

Therefore, it feels unlikely that Arteta will throw Jorginho straight into the starting XI.

The Brazil-born playmaker could, however, be handed a start if Thomas Partey fails to recover from his rib injury in time for the trip to Merseyside.

However, the Evening Standard believe Arsenal’s No.5 is winning his race to be fit.

Whatever happens, the Gunners are in for a tough test this Saturday in what will be Sean Dyche’s first game in charge of Everton, with Goodison Park expected to be a cauldron of noise.
