Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been previewing the north London derby, and he’s tipped Eddie Nketiah to have a real impact against Tottenham.

Arsenal come into this game knowing that they’ll still be in fourth no matter the result on Thursday, while anything but a win for Tottenham would be disastrous.

Spurs will have to come out and attack Arsenal, and Campbell believes that Nketiah’s pace on the counter-attack could cause Spurs problems.

What’s been said?

Campbell discussed Nketiah’s role in the north London derby.

“Here we are, I think Eddie has done a really good job, he’s scored four goals in four games and Eddie could make himself a hero. Let’s be honest, he could make himself a hero because he’s got the type of movement that can cause Spurs problems, he really does because whether you like it or not, Spurs are going to have to come for us because all of the pressure is on them, all of it,” Campbell said.

Could be career-defining

Nketiah has had an incredible run of form in recent weeks, and another good performance against Tottenham could genuinely be career-defining.

The forward is entering the final weeks of his Arsenal contract, but a standout performance against Spurs could force Arsenal to finally show the faith in him and give him the assurance that he’ll be their first-choice number nine going forward.

It truly feels as though Nketiah is on the brink of making himself into a star, and perhaps this game against Spurs could provide him the platform to prove to everyone that he’s good enough to be Arsenal’s striker for the foreseeable future.
