Celtic boss Neil Lennon has not won over all the Parkhead crowd yet.
Callum McGregor has told the Daily Record that Celtic have to consider Neil Lennon as permanent boss.
Lennon has taken charge taken Celtic since the departure of Brendan Rodgers, and he has kept them on course to win the Scottish Premiership title.
Although the Bhoys’ performances have not always been the most convincing in recent months, they have kept on winning.
And McGregor has suggested that if Lennon leads them to more silverware then he should be considered to take over on a longer-term basis.
“His track record at Celtic as a manager has been outstanding,” McGregor, who is said to be valued at £10 million (The Sun), said.
“There’s not been many better in Europe and in league football as well. He has to have a case to get it.
“People will, ultimately, judge you on success.
“If we manage to do it then he has a great shout. And he would have deserved it all as well.”
Despite McGregor’s words, Lennon has not won over all the Celtic supporters yet.
Doubts still remain over whether Lennon is a good enough boss to take Celtic forward over the coming years.
The Bhoys have looked stifled in recent weeks, with their displays drawing some criticism.
Celtic are next in action on Sunday when they take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
