Some Arsenal supporters on social media have once again been fawning over Folarin Balogun after he was named as the PL2 Player of the Month.
What’s the story with Balogun?
The striker’s incredible form at PL2 level has seen him earn the Player of the Month award, and it’s hard to argue that he doesn’t deserve it.
Balogun has been ridiculously good for Arsenal’s U23s this season. He’s netted 13 goals in 11 PL2 appearances and when you realise that five of those goals came in November, it’s not hard to see why he’s won this award.
Balogun has long been touted as one of the next big things to come out of the Gunners’ academy, and he seems to be developing and improving every single time he steps onto the pitch.
Time to step up
Balogun has won the PL2 Player of the Month, and in our view, this should spell the end of his journey at that level.
He’s dominating the U23s, and, surely, now is the time for this young man to get a taste of some regular senior football.
It may be too soon for Mikel Arteta to call him up to the first-team in north London, but a loan away in January should definitely be on the cards for this young man.
Balogun has proven all there is to prove at U23 level, and now, he needs to make the next step if he’s going to become the star he’s seemingly destined to be.
