Caitlin Clark is once again facing online criticism after a brief exchange with a teammate became a major talking point during the Indiana Fever’s loss to the New York Liberty.
The Fever let a 12-point third-quarter lead slip away, falling to the Liberty 83-75 and dropping to 5-5 on the season.
Clark finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and nine assists on 4-for-14 shooting, but the postgame discussion quickly turned from her stat line to her body language.

Caitlin Clark Tyasha Harris high-five clip sparks fan backlash
Quin shared the clip that showed Tyasha Harris raising her hand as Clark moved back toward the court, before Harris tapped Clark on the shoulder after the apparent missed high five.
One fan linked it to previous scrutiny, writing: “She absolutely saw Ty’s hand…She also did this to Angel and Raven..who’s next?”
Another harsh reaction read: “She has this urban ghetto attitude about her. Cocky and arrogant.”
One fan went further, saying: “She really the most overrated athlete ever, and she has a terrible attitude,”
Another questioned the effect on Indiana, writing: “She’s killing team morale. The W is breaking her,”
Angel Reese and Raven Johnson references added context
The fan comparison to Angel Reese appears to point back to Clark’s hard foul on Reese in 2025, when the play was upgraded to a Flagrant 1 and generated major debate.
The Raven Johnson reference is different. It traces back to Clark waving off Johnson during the 2023 NCAA tournament, a moment that followed both players into later public discussion.
Indiana had just lost a winnable game, and Clark’s shooting night gave critics more to discuss.
Before the Liberty game, Clark had also talked about admiring Knicks fans and wanting to experience their NBA Finals celebrations in New York.
Now the attention has flipped back to Indiana. Whether the high-five was intentional or not, Clark remains under a microscope where even a split-second exchange becomes a full debate.
