England are back in action on Tuesday night, taking on Slovenia in a crucial Euro 2024 clash with Bukayo Saka looking to open his account.

The Three Lions have endured a rather low-key start to Euro 2024.

Entering the competition as one of the favourites, England were expected to ease through the group stage.

A 1-0 win over Serbia was far from convincing and England really struggled in a 1-1 draw with Denmark last week.

Gareth Southgate is coming in for major criticism right now and fans are expecting a much-improve display against Slovenia.

Bukayo Saka on England teammate Ezri Konsa

Southgate is only expected to make on change to his starting XI with Conor Gallagher set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in the England midfield.

That means Bukayo Saka will once again start on the right flank despite some surprise calls for him to be shifted to left back.

Saka remains one of England’s top attacking threats and he was particularly impressive against Serbia.

Saka has now spoken ahead of England’s clash with Slovenia and directed attention towards one of his teammates.

Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa deservedly landed a spot in the England squad after a superb season under Unai Emery.

Whether deployed at centre back or right back, Konsa performed admirably for Villa and whilst he faces a fight to feature for England, Saka loves having him around.

Speaking to England’s official YouTube channel, Saka picked out Konsa as somebody he loves to come up against in England training.

Saka feels that Konsa is one of the very best one-v-one defenders in the Premier League and subsequently relishes the battles against him.

Saka thinks that coming up against Konsa really improves his game and thinks the Villa defender gets just as much out of their challenges too.

“In some sessions, I do a little one-v-one with Ezri because, you know, for me, he is one of the best in the Premier League, defending one-v-one, so he improves me and it improves him as well. So, I enjoy coming up against him,” said Saka.

Konsa loves Tottenham Hotspur

Saka loves having Konsa around in training, but you can be sure that he will enjoy some banter with the defender about his North London allegiance.

Whilst Saka is Arsenal through and through, Konsa is a big fan of bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Konsa previously admitted that Tottenham would be his dream move and has even admitted loving watching Dimitar Berbatov at Spurs.

Konsa’s former teacher Kabir Jagwani even told The Athletic earlier this year that Konsa is a ‘huge’ Tottenham fan and always wanted to play for the club.

Whilst now playing for Tottenham’s Premier League rivals Villa, Konsa’s love for Spurs surely hasn’t disappeared.

Arsenal and Tottenham fans love to mock each other and we would be surprised if it isn’t the exact same between Saka and Konsa during these battles in England training.
