Gary Lineker and Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott have responded to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka’s post on social media.
Arsenal and England international winger Saka has posted a long and emotional message on Twitter and Instagram.
The 19-year-old has expressed his disappointment at the way things ended for England at Euro 2020.
The teenager, who can also play as a left-back or in midfield, has further stated his disappointment at failing to score the decisive penalty in the shootout in the final against Italy.
Saka has also addressed the racist abuse that he, as well as England international teammates Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, faced online after the defeat to Italy in the final at Wembley Stadium in London last weekend.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Lineker, and Liverpool winger Elliott have sent messages to Saka in response to his post, as shown below.
Saka is one of the finest young players in Europe, and the aforementioned comments from Lineker and Elliott outline just how highly he is thought of in the footballing community.
Of course, it was disappointing for Saka and for England fans regarding the penalty, but, as Lineker says, even the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo do not always score from the spot.
