Gary Stevens has joked on Twitter that if Tottenham Hotspur want him to replace Jose Mourinho, then they will contact him.

Tottenham have announced on their official website today that Mourinho has been relieved of his duties.

The decision comes just a day after Spurs decided to join the European Super League and only days before the EFL Cup final against Manchester City.

Stevens played for Tottenham from 1983 until 1990 and has managed Port and Army United in Thailand.

The 59-year-old former defender has reminded on Twitter what he wrote about Mourinho and Spurs when he was appointed.

The former England international has also joked that if Spurs want him to take charge of the team, then they will contact him.

The dismissal of Mourinho will come as a shock to many Tottenham fans. While results and performances have not been great in recent weeks, there is still a chance that they could finish in the Premier League top four (although now that they will play in the European Super League, they need not worry about that).

Moreover, Spurs will take on Manchester City in the EFL Cup final this coming weekend, and the North London club have the chance to win a major trophy.

Now that Spurs have joined the European Super League, they do not need to end up in the top four as they will not play in the Champions League.

However, the Tottenham fans would love it if the club win the EFL Cup final against City, who have also joined the European Super League.
