Gael Clichy joked on his Instagram story that reported Arsenal target, Raheem Sterling, has ‘got to stop’ after scoring again at Euro 2020.
Whilst speculation has been rife that those in the Arsenal boardroom are trying to make an ambitious move for Sterling, he’s shutting his critics up in England colours.
On Tuesday, Sterling scored the only goal of the game as England beat the Czech Republic 1-0 in what was their final Group D encounter of Euro 2020.
The Three Lions topped their group, with Sterling the only one getting on the scoresheet for his country, at this moment in time.
And after the game, Clichy sent a message on his Instagram story to the English speedster: “Bro got to stop. My stories should be about me you know.”
Clichy played alongside Sterling during their time at the Etihad, hence their connection.
And just like the former left-back, it will be interesting to see if he dons the colours of Arsenal.
Amid the rumours of Arsenal’s interest in Sterling’s talents, it does seem as though Man City are willing to let him go.

The £49 million player has been offered to Tottenham by Man City in a possible cash plus players deal, with the Premier League champions trying to lure Harry Kane to Manchester.
Sterling’s game time did reduce under Pep Guardiola last season and he did recently express his unhappiness at that.
But with the former Liverpool academy product in the Champions League, would he really be willing to swap that for a team that’s not even in Europe?
