Jack Grealish has taken to Twitter to heap praise on Tyrick Mitchell, after the Tottenham and Newcastle target shone for England last night.

What’s the story?

Well, the Crystal Palace wonderkid made his first start for England in the 3-0 win over the Ivory Coast, having debuted against Switzerland on Saturday.

The £25,000-a-week gem performed very well at left-back behind Grealish, and the £100m man clearly rates him highly.

You can see what the Manchester City maestro wrote below.

It was The Sun who revealed that Spurs and the Magpies are interested in Mitchell, whose reputation is growing rapidly.

The Crystal Palace No.3 has arguably been Player of the Season at Selhurst Park, and never lets Patrick Vieira down.

Mitchell’s efforts have the south Londoners sat comfortably in 12th in the Premier League, while the Eagles also have an FA Cup Semi-Final clash with Chelsea to look forward to.

How Tyrick Mitchell fared for England vs Ivory Coast

The 22-year-old shone at Wembley last night on his first start for the Three Lions – he didn’t give Nicolas Pepe a sniff.

Interestingly, the £72m Arsenal winger struggled, as did ex-Tottenham man Serge Aurier, whose overlaps still didn’t pose Mitchell any issues.

The Crystal Palace man’s job got a bit easier when Aurier was sent off, although he didn’t let anybody down whatsoever.

Rob Green told BBC Radio 5 Live that Mitchell really impressed him, describing his display as “excellent”.

Gareth Southgate was also pleased, specifically highlighting Mitchell’s defensive strengths as something England’s other left-backs maybe lack.

Tottenham and Newcastle better act swiftly, as the England international’s value is rising with each passing game at the moment.
