Brighton want Roberto De Zerbi with Celtic potentially set to avoid interest from the Seagulls in Ange Postecoglou following Graham Potter’s exit.
Albion were on cloud nine last Sunday having thrashed Leicester City 5-2 at the Amex Stadium.
Yet their bright, exciting project was plunged into chaos in midweek when Chelsea targeted outstanding boss Graham Potter as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea landed their top target, prising Potter away from Brighton whilst taking most of his coaching staff too.
That leaves Brighton with a major rebuilding job on their hands just a month into the season – but they may have found the manager they want.

Brighton want Roberto De Zerbi
Reports from The Independent have suggested that Brighton may fancy Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou, but aren’t sure whether he would leave.
Celtic have now been offered a huge boost as The Telegraph claim that Postecoglou isn’t interested in leaving Celtic right now.
The Australian is absolutely adored at Parkhead having guided a remarkable revolution after the late lows of the Neil Lennon era.
Quite frankly playing some of the best football around right now, Celtic are a joy to watch under Postecoglou and it’s no surprise that he is attracting interest.
Brighton seemingly have no hope of prising Postecoglou away right now and are moving on to other targets.
SportItalia’s Michele Criscitiello reports that Brighton have now made contact with Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi in the hope that he will replace Potter.
De Zerbi, 43, had a somewhat nomadic playing career and has built up a strong reputation as a coach.
After starting out with Darfo Boario and Foggia, De Zerbi moved on to Palermo and Benevento before his big move to Sassuolo.
De Zerbi earned praise for his attractive brand of football, switching between 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 systems with regularity – something that may remind Brighton of Potter.
Add in the way he developed the likes of Manuel Locatelli, Domenico Berardi, Gianluca Scamacca and Giacomo Raspadori and you can see why De Zerbi has been hailed.
The Italian moved on to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2021 but left in July due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
De Zerbi won 20 of his 30 games in charge of Shakhtar, continuing his exciting managerial career.
Brighton now seemingly want De Zerbi as their new boss, and it all just points to joy and relief for Celtic with Postecoglou likely to stay put.
