Tottenham now look set to lose ground on Brighton in the race to sign Samuel Iling-Junior as Fabio Paratici is banned from negotiations.

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian – Tottenham‘s Director of Football – has received a worldwide ban from football operations for 30 months after Juventus were found guilty of false accounting during his time in Turin.

Spurs have kept Paratici in his role and are seeking further clarification from FIFA about the ban, meaning he is unable to do his job – which involves player recruitment – in the meantime.

As a result, it seems Brighton are keen to make progress with a move for Iling-Junior while one of their major competitors for the Juventus No.43 is out of action.

Calciomercato believe the Seagulls are ready to bid €15m (£13m) for the England Under-21 international.

It comes after Tuttosport claimed that Spurs want to sign Iling-Junior as well.

Interestingly – according to 90min – the English wonderkid may have to be sold by Juventus due to their financial issues, which coincidentally were partly caused by Paratici and others involved in wrongdoing.

Tottenham must sort themselves out as Brighton prepare Iling-Junior bid

Clubs from all across Europe are beginning to get themselves prepared for the summer transfer window right now as recruitment plans are drawn up.

Therefore, Tottenham must sort themselves out, or they risk falling behind.

Paratici is the man responsible for all football operations at Spurs, and he is the one tasked with bringing new signings to N17 as a result.

However, with the 50-year-old banned from actually doing his job, Daniel Levy must find someone else to take over in the meantime, or simply sack the Italian outright.

Tottenham have plenty of work to do this summer – especially as Harry Kane is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract – and they cannot risk slipping behind due to Paratici’s ban.
