Kaoru Mitoma was exceptional for Brighton last season, which has generated interest from elsewhere in his services.

According to Italian football journalist Rudy Galetti, writing on Twitter, a Saudi Arabian club hold an interest in signing Kaoru Mitoma.

Saudi Arabian sides have already splashed the cash this summer, with the likes of Hakim Ziyech, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Neves, Roberto Firmino, and Karim Benzema, amongst others, making the switch to the Saudi Pro League. With huge contracts being offered to stars of European football, it’s easy to see the appeal of making such a move.

However, with Brighton having already lost Alexis Mac Allister this summer, and with Moises Caicedo pushing for an exit, the club will be extremely reluctant to let Mitoma leave as well. What’s more, at just 26-years-old, Mitoma himself should be keen to remain in the Premier League.

Why Kaoru Mitoma must stay at Brighton

Roberto De Zerbi will be desperate to keep Mitoma at the Amex Stadium. The Japanese winger was electric last season, deploying his speed, awareness, and dribbling ability to become a potent force in the Seagulls’ attack.

As quoted by Brighton’s official website, Mitoma has said “I am very happy here…But I have to raise the quality of my play to another level.” Given the 17-cap Japan international is settled at the club and has ambitions to impress even further then Brighton is exactly where he needs to be. Even if a huge offer does materialise from a Saudi Arabian club, at this stage in his career Mitoma shouldn’t be entertaining any thoughts of leaving.
