Brighton and Leeds are reportedly ready to duke it out for the 20-year-old; but who will get their man?
Leeds United have competition in the chase for Swedish defender Linus Wahlqvist, Fotboll Direkt reports, with fellow promotion chasers Brighton also in the race for his signature.
Aftonbladet reported last month that The Whites remain interested in the FC Norrkoping right-back after months of speculation, with his impressive performances in his homeland catching the eye of potential suitors and earning him a number of caps for the Swedish national team.
However, it now appears far from certain that Leeds will get their man in the summer with Fotboll Direkt claiming that Brighton, three places above Garry Monk’s side in the Championship table, preparing to make a move.
Both sides appear to have their right-back positions sewn up at the moment with Luke Ayling and Bruno Saltor in impressive form for The Whites and The Seagulls respectively though, at 20, Wahlqvist is very much a star for the future.

And the defender himself admitted to Voetball Belgie recently that he would be interested in a move to the Championship, something that is not likely to have passed Leeds and Brighton by.
Therefore, this could give them an advantage over Napoli and Valencia, two bonafide European giants also linked with Wahlqvist’s signature.

The prospect of Champions League football at Napoli and the prestige of Valencia would prove too tempting for many players to turn down but there appears to be little reason for Leeds or Brighton to lose hope.
