Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has been targeted by Chelsea during the January transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers has told the Scotsman that he has recently sat down with Craig Gordon to discuss the goalkeeper’s future at Celtic.
Gordon has been targeted by Chelsea in recent weeks, with the Premier League giants making a bid for the Scotland international.
Chelsea believe Gordon could make an able deputy to current number one Thibaut Courtois.
However, Rodgers insists that Chelsea’s bid for the 34-year-old has come nowhere near Celtic’s valuation for Gordon.
“He is a player we want to keep. Chelsea have an interest but for any interest to be activated there has to be a valuation of the player that has to be met,” Rodgers said.

“We don’t want to sell him of course but if there’s any way that would make Celtic think, then there has to be an offer that would allow us to do that as a club. And what came in was nowhere near that level.
“I have had a few conversations with him and he is clear where we are at.
“I understand the lure of it [Chelsea] and I understand what it would mean for Craig to go there as a number two for the next two years and waste away his career in not playing games.”
Gordon actually began this season as Celtic’s second choice, with Doris De Vries taking his place at Parkhead.
But, after a series of excellent displays, Gordon was reinstated as number one and he has not looked back.
