Whilst Joel Matip scored the unfortunate winner for Spurs by converting into his own net, the first goal came about after a bit of magic from James Maddison, Richarlison and Son Heung-min, which Tim Sherwood praised, as he told beIN SPORTS.
A lot of people might be on the back of Richarlison, but that’s two home games in a row where he has played a crucial role in Spurs winning.
Yes, more goals are needed, but the Brazil international is proving to be far more effective under Ange Postecoglou.
After previously starting the season down the middle, Richarlison was used on the left against Liverpool, which Tim Sherwood touched upon.

“It was a great goal,” said Sherwood. “A great run from Richarlison. Playing on the left-hand side. We didn’t know whether Son was going to play on the left (or down the middle).
“As soon as he gets free, it was a great pass inside Gomez (by Maddison) and Son just breaks his neck to get across the defender and he finishes it brilliantly.”
Tottenham attack flowing
It required hard work. Very hard work. But Spurs managed to get over the line yesterday, even if the game was marred and dominated by VAR – Jamie O’Hara was fuming after the match.
Those in Spurs colours won’t care one jot because they have three points in the bag and are sitting second in the Premier League table.
