Boss admits he could sign Leeds players, after one ‘liked’ tweet about joining

The new Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan has admitted he could return to Leeds United for signings this summer.

Corberan spent three years on Leeds’ payroll, occupying first-team and Under-23 coaching roles.

It is therefore little surprise to see some Whites players already being linked with moves across West Yorkshire.

And, asked at his first Huddersfield press conference on Friday if any of his former charges could follow him from Leeds, the Spaniard told Yorkshire Live: “Every club is focused in the market. Some opportunities might come from Leeds, some from League One, some from abroad…we are analysing every opportunity to make the best decisions to make the squad strong.”

The Polish goalkeeper Kamil Miazek is one player in whom Corberan has already been credited with an interest (The Sun on Sunday).

There is however some confusion over Miazek’s situation.

The 24-year-old’s Leeds deal expired this summer, although there has been no announcement as yet about his future.

On whether he could strengthen in Miazek’s position, Corberan replied: “We will analyse the situation and have started to work toward that. We are looking at our possibilities in the market and here at Huddersfield.”

Miazek, whose number 30 shirt has gone to the new Leeds recruit Joe Gelhardt, ‘liked’ a tweet linking him with Huddersfield earlier this month.
