Bordeaux are looking to lure Newcastle striker Aleksander Mitrovic to France.

Bordeaux president Stephane Martin has told Tuesday’s paper edition of L’Equipe (PressReader) that the French outfit will struggle to sign Newcastle United striker Aleksander Mitrovic on the financial side of the deal.
The 23-year-old powerhouse is said to be interesting the Ligue 1 outfit, with a report from RMC Sport claiming the club are considering whether they can take the Serbia international on loan or as part of a permanent deal.
The Toon striker has been afforded just seven appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals against Nottingham Forest and West Ham United as he remains behind Joselu and Dwight Gayle in the pecking order.

It leaves him surplus to requirements and although a move to Bordeaux would suit all parties involved, it remains unclear whether Martin’s side will be able to afford to sign the forward.
“These tracks are real but we are working on other issues,” Martin said. “For Mitrovic, the fact he plays in England does not make things easier from a financial point of view.”

The Daily Star claimed back in March that former Anderlecht striker Mitrovic was earning a huge £60,000 a week at St. James’ Park, which may mean the striker will have to take a pay cut if he is to join Bordeaux.
Since moving to Newcastle in the summer of 2015, Mitrovic has scored 17 goals and added 10 assists in 72 league and cup outings and although his contract expires in two-and-a-half years, it could be the end of the road on Tyneside this month.
