The Sunderland defender could replace Michael Keane at Burnley, according to the bookies.

Burnley are clear favourites to sign Sunderland defender Lamine Kone with bookmaker Sky Bet.

Kone could be on his way out of the Stadium of Light after Sunderland’s relegation, and has been strongly linked with moves to West Bromwich Albion [Birmingham Mail] and West Ham United [The Mirror] in recent weeks.

But Burnley are also in the market for a new centre-half, having sold Michael Keane to Everton on Monday and, despite having yet to be formally credited with interest in Kone, the Turf Moor side are 4/1 frontrunners to land the player.

West Ham are second favourites for the Ivorian’s signature at 8/1, while West Brom are behind both Newcastle United [10/1] and Everton [12/1] at 16/1.

The Sun reports that Kone could be available for £7 million, which is more than half what he was valued at a year ago.

Burnley [3/1] are also favourites to sign Craig Dawson, having been linked with the West Brom player by The Mirror last week.

Dawson recently entered the final year of his contract at The Hawthorns, whereas Kone is tied to Sunderland until 2021.
