Josef Newgarden held off Marcus Ericsson to win the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 and claim a record sixth IndyCar victory at World Wide Technology Raceway.
The Team Penske driver led 53 laps and crossed the finish line 0.6613 seconds ahead of Ericsson after 260 laps around the Illinois oval.
Christian Rasmussen completed the podium as one of the standout performers of the race.

Newgarden added another chapter to his remarkable record at World Wide Technology Raceway by securing victory in the ninth round of the 2026 IndyCar season.
Ericsson led a race-high 114 laps and spent much of the evening at the front, but Newgarden emerged ahead in the closing stages to secure the win.
Rasmussen finished third after leading five laps, while Rinus VeeKay and Scott McLaughlin completed the top five.
Kyle Kirkwood, David Malukas, Will Power, Marcus Armstrong and Christian Lundgaard rounded out the top 10.
The race also featured a disappointing result for pole-sitter Alex Palou. The championship leader led 49 laps but ultimately finished 17th and two laps down.
