Yannick Bolasie has urged Everton to keep Anthony Gordon at Goodison Park as Tottenham reportedly enter talks to land both him, and Richarlison, in a double deal believed to be worth in the region of £85million.

Gordon, 21, has thrown himself onto the scene at Everton over the past 12 months. Before the 2021-22 campaign, he had only won 20 senior outings for the Toffees – going on loan to Championship side Preston North End.

But last season, he played 40 times in all competitions. The England Under-21 man was excellent, often earning praise for his work rate and tenacity – a fighter’s mentality in the midst of a relegation dogfight. Everton finished in 16th.

Reports on Monday said that Spurs were in talks over a double deal for the Everton duo – with Goal saying it would cost £85million; Richarlison at £60million, and Gordon at £25million. Bolasie has urged Everton to keep the latter.

An intriguing summer keeps taking a surprise turn. Tottenham have been regularly linked with Richarlison. The Toffees are seemingly open to his exit, if the right price is put on the table this summer. They need to ease Financial Fairplay.

A fee of £60million would certainly be enough for Frank Lampard’s side to wave goodbye. It is a different story for Gordon. Everton will be desperate to keep the youngster, after such a crucial run of form during 2021-22.

He is seen as the future of Everton, the player that can guide them back into European contention. Losing him, for £25million, would be a blow. The Toffees have to be very careful not to anger their fans regarding Gordon.
