Don Hutchison stated that he liked the fact that Heung-Min Son was mouthing ‘Salah has scored’, as the Tottenham forward was battling the Liverpool star for the Golden Boot.

On the final day of the Premier League season, Son needed two goals to win the Golden Boot in Tottenham colours, with Salah being benched by Liverpool providing him with a helping hand.

Son scored his two goals at already-relegated Norwich City and his celebrations for the second proved that he was pretty excited at winning that top goalscoring prize.

But, as the versatile Spurs forward was on the pitch, he was told about Salah coming off the bench and scoring for Liverpool against Wolves.

Pictures then emerged of him mouthing ‘Salah has scored’ in disappointment and Hutchison told the Weekend Review on PL Productions (23/05/22 at 12:45 pm) that he loved how that was ‘driving’ the player on.

“Salah has scored,” Hutchison repeats what Son was mouthing on the pitch against Norwich.

“I like that. It’s driving you on. It’s a bit of motivation.”

TOTTENHAM’S SON COMPETING WITH THE ELITE

It’s been a remarkable campaign for Son and the best of his career, as Spurs secured a Champions League spot, as a result.

There were some who felt that Son’s 23 goals were more remarkable than Salah’s given that the South Korean star doesn’t take penalties.

But the versatile Tottenham forward has every right to put his name up against the elite, and Salah is one of them, for sure.

And next season, he has the chance to do it on the biggest domestic stage of them all – the Champions League.

Both him and Harry Kane have formed a quite formidable partnership and the duo could argue that they are good enough to get into Liverpool’s forward line.
