Tottenham Hotspur signing Yves Bissouma is looking like a mere matter of time at this stage.
According to The Standard, the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is undergoing his medical at Spurs’ training ground today.
The Athletic reported in midweek that Tottenham had agreed a £25 million transfer fee to sign the Mali international.
This will be the Lilywhites’ third signing of the summer transfer window, if and when it materialises.
And Alasdair Gold, who exclusively covers the club for Football London, has revealed that the player himself actually spent the night at Tottenham’s training ground in preparation for the medical today.
He told a Football London Q & A: “Bit of an update on this that I got during the Q&A! Bissouma was due to fly to the UK on Wednesday and after staying overnight in The Lodge, we’re expecting the medical at Hotspur Way on Thursday and if all the personal terms are tied up quickly, which seems to be the case, then we should see the deal announced by the end of the week.”
The Lodge is an in-house accommodation for Spurs players – and transfer targets evidently – situated on the property of Hotspur Way.
It has a restaurant, two floors and no fewer than 40 bedrooms, The Daily Mail has reported.
No doubt the state-of-the-art facilities will have impressed Bissouma and removed any lingering doubts he may or may not have had about joining Antonio Conte’s outfit this summer.
Indeed, Tottenham Hotspur signing Yves Bissouma seems a matter of when, not if, at this stage, particularly with his personal trainer effectively confirming the move this morning.
