Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Arsenal released their new third kit for the 2022/23 campaign.

What’s the story?

Well, the Gunners have just dropped a beautiful third strip to go with their collared home shirt – as seen above – and their stunning black away kit.

Adidas have now created a bold pink kit for Arsenal, which was modelled by Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard – strangely whilst wearing pink trousers as well.

After seeing the image, Lineker posted the following reaction on Twitter.

The trousers were certainly a strange addition to the photoshoot, although the BBC Match of the Day host clearly saw the funny side.

In their announcement, Arsenal stated that it is the first pink outfield shirt to be worn in their entire history.

The Gunners will debut the kit against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday, in the Premier League curtain-raiser.

Arsenal add that the pink shirt also sees the return of the Ermine pattern, an icon first seen on the Arsenal crest in the 1940s.

Without a doubt, Adidas have done a fine job with Arsenal’s kits this season – they are all absolutely superb.

Arsenal could be in for a special season

In our view, Mikel Arteta could oversee a special campaign for Arsenal this season.

Aside from the fact they’ll be playing in style, the Gunners have also made some seriously strong additions.

The likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus are top, top footballers who will surely have a huge impact this term, while the signing of Fabio Vieira was also a very exciting capture.

Add in the return of William Saliba, and Arteta’s squad looks very strong going into the new season.

Hopefully, Arsenal can do something special, and make their three stunning kits into iconic strips.
