Leeds United’s caretaker boss, Michael Skubala has heaped praise on to Luke Ayling ahead of his side’s upcoming contest against Everton.
The £200,000 (Bristol Post) man has been a revelation for the Whites in recent weeks, with Kalvin Phillips once raving about him on Instagram. While the English side have been disappointing for large parts of the season, with Jesse Marsch even getting the boot, the 31-year-old has emerged as a rare positive.
As Leeds prepare to bounce back from their late 2-0 defeat to Manchester United against Everton on Saturday, Michael Skubala has been extremely complimentary about Luke Ayling.
Leeds caretaker boss Michael Skubala praises Luke Ayling ahead of Everton clash
Rasmus Kristensen, who was starting games week in, week out has lost his place at right-back to the Englishman, who has showcased his class, especially since the World Cup.
Michael Skubala seems to have taken a note of this, as he reserved special praise of Leeds defender Luke Ayling, ahead of his side’s league outing against Everton.

“All the players are important but Luke [Ayling] is a great person. He’s very professional, a great leader and a bit of a legend at the club. It’s an important moment. He was brilliant in the 2 games against Man United”, Skubala said about him, as quoted by Leeds Live.
Luke Ayling deserves a lot of credit
Far too often, the experienced full-back tends to go under-the-radar, as he lacks the attacking verve that some of his younger compatriots do.
While this is not to compare Luke Ayling to the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James but it is nice to hear Michael Skubala give an underrated player like him his credit, ahead of Leeds United’s next game against Everton.
Ultimately, such positive reinforcement will only give individual players and the group as a whole a huge lift in their mission to survive relegation.
