Newcastle United need to breathe new life into their team and they will be looking towards the summer transfer market to do that.
PSR (profit and sustainability rules) and FFP (financial fair play) have been big talking points as teams across the Premier League try to make moves.
As it has been well-documented, Newcastle United have the richest owners in England and they ideally want to splash the cash like Manchester City and Chelsea did when they were first taken over by rich owners.
But the so-called anti-competitive rules are stopping them from doing that and it doesn’t help Eddie Howe’s cause to get the club back into Europe.
Manchester United’s shock FA Cup final win over Manchester City meant that Newcastle missed out on Conference League football, despite finishing seventh.

You have to question how much of that has played a part in the Magpies not being able to sign Crystal Palace’s sought-after star, Michael Olise.
Sources told HITC that Newcastle have been one of the clubs keen on Olise’s talents, but he is now set to join Bayern Munich.
Kevin Hatchard thinks it’s a ‘big statement’ signing from Vicent Kompany’s side and highlighted that the German club are a ‘bigger club than Newcastle’.
The Bundesliga commentator also added that it’s ‘really smart’ from Olise that he has decided to snub any transfer to other Premier League teams and decided to join Munich, as he posted on Twitter.
Michael Olise set to join Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace
“Wow. That’s a proper signing and a big statement. A sign of real change,” said Hatchard.
“Really smart from him too. Bigger club than Crystal Palace and Newcastle United. (and yes, they are big clubs too), and gives him a Champions League stage, which then should lead to caps for France.”
Newcastle United in the summer transfer market
Before anything can happen, fans are hoping they keep their current stars on board because there have been a lot of noises.
Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak are the two who have been much talked about, with sources telling HITC that the 21-goal striker could sign a new deal.

That would be music to everyone’s ears because that is a big worry given the rules that are in place.
But it’s going to be interesting to see how the fans will react to the new Premier League season and whether the expectation will be to get back into the Champions League.
