Willian will reportedly tear up his Arsenal contract to complete a move to Brazilian side Corinthians in the next 24 hours.
According to Sky Sports News, the 33-year-old attacker will terminate his contract with Arsenal. The decision will save the Gunners £20m in wages over the next two years.
Willian was one of the club’s highest-paid players, with the report stating that the winger was earning £240,000-a-week with the north London side.
The former Chelsea star joined for free last season and managed just one goal in all competitions for the Gunners. Willian had been rumoured to leave Arsenal, and this decision to tear up his contract confirms this speculation.
With just a few days of the transfer window left to go, Arsenal will be one of the busiest clubs in the market. The Gunners have already spent the most out of any side in Europe this summer.
