West Ham United are currently in the midst of a real crisis.

David Moyes, Manager of Sunderland gives his team instructions during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Sunderland at Emirates Stadium on May 16, 2017 in London, England.

Hammers boss David Moyes was furious with his side’s display during their 2-0 defeat at Watford yesterday, highlighting how there were certain players with ‘big reputations’ who disappointed him today, as quoted by NBC Sports.

West Ham remained in the bottom three of the Premier League table following their defeat at Vicarage Road, and if the Scot was unaware of the size of the task ahead of him when he took the job, he certainly will be under no illusions now.

There must be real concern at the London Stadium, with games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal all to come in their next five fixtures.

Moyes’ arrival in east London was greeted with fierce resistance from the Hammers faithful, and their side’s performance against the Hornets yesterday will do little to change their mindset.

The 54-year-old must find something that clicks with the West Ham players, and fast, if he is to guide them away from safety, but for now he made do with sharing his utter dismay with his side’s performance against Marco Silva’s men, as quoted by NBC Sport:

“I thought this was a big job, but there were some players with big reputations who disappointed me. There were some who I thought would show me more, and why they play for the team regularly. They need to show me, ‘If that’s your reputation, show me why you’ve got it.’”

Next up for West Ham is a crucial game at home to Leicester City on Friday night, and if they fail to pick up all three points there, Moyes could be in for a real rough ride in the Hammers hot-seat.
