Jamie O’Hara has taken to Twitter to react after Tottenham announced the signing of Ivan Perisic, with the 33-year-old moving to the Premier League on a free transfer following his departure from Inter.
What’s the story?
Well, O’Hara seems to approve of the latest signing made by Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici.
In truth, the 35-year-old has no reason not to approve, given the success of Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero.
Perisic – who sent a heartfelt message to Inter fans on Instagram – has signed a two-year contract worth £180,000-a-week, which will keep him in N17 until he turns 35.
Conte has previously worked with the Croatian international at the San Siro, where they helped Inter win their first Serie A title in 11 years.
Judging by his reaction, O’Hara certainly seems excited – you can see his tweet in full below.
It certainly is a big move. Some may complain about Perisic’s age, although that doesn’t seem to be affecting the Croatian whatsoever.
The Spurs new boy played 49 games in the campaign just gone, which is a lot of football, to say the least.
Impressively, Perisic only missed one game due to injury as a result of muscle fatigue, according to Transfermarkt.

He is a naturally fit player, who will still be able to offer plenty to Conte next season – in those 49 games, Perisic scored ten goals and also provided nine assists.
Two of those goals came in extra-time of the Coppa Italia final against Juventus, as he fired Inter to a 4-2 win – what a way for him to end his time in Milan.
Tottenham have needed someone like Ivan Perisic
In our view, every top side needs an experienced head like Perisic, a player who is clearly a model professional and takes good care of himself.

Conte knows he can trust the Croatian fully, and his arrival gives the 52-year-old plenty of wriggle room when it comes to rotating his squad – a significant thing with Champions League football on the schedule next term.
Even if the move turns out to be a surprise failure, Perisic has only signed a two-year deal, and also arrived for free, so it wouldn’t be a major issue for Spurs – it is a great, risk-free signing whatever way you look at it.
