Ivan Perisic has taken to Instagram to announce his departure from Inter, as he prepares for a move to the Premier League with Tottenham.

What’s the story?

Well, the 33-year-old is close to reuniting with Antonio Conte at Spurs, and has already agreed a £180,000-a-week contract with the north Londoners.

Perisic has shook hands on a two-year contract, and he will join the likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur on the list of Serie A imports made by Fabio Paratici.

Before an official announcement is made – we believe it will come later today – the Croatia international logged onto Instagram to send a heartfelt message to the Inter fans.

You can see what Perisic – who scored ten goals this season – wrote on Instagram in full below.

Clearly, the Italian giants mean a lot to the left-footed Croatian, and they hold a special place in his heart after 254 appearances wearing their colours.

During his time at the San Siro, Perisic won the Serie A title alongside Conte, while also winning the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.

Impressively, Perisic scored two extra-time goals against Juventus to help Inter win the Coppa Italia final on May 11th – what a way to bow out.

What a start to the summer for Tottenham.

With Champions League football returning to N17, Conte needs depth, and quality depth at that.

In Perisic, Spurs will have a hugely experienced footballer on their hands, one who has amassed 113 caps for Croatia while starring in a number of different roles.

This term, he has thrived as a wing-back on the left of the defence.

That should help Conte with squad rotation, ensuring that the likes of Ryan Sessegnon are kept fresh and are not overworked.

On a two-year contract, under a manager he knows well, we can’t see a way in which Perisic fails at Tottenham – expect an official announcement soon.
