Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may not drop Jorginho anytime soon and is likely to play him against the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

That is according to former Arsenal player and talkSPORT pundit Adrian Clarke, who has given his verdict on Jorginho.

So, what has Adrian Clarke said about Arsenal midfielder Jorginho? Let’s take a look.

Jorginho is a ‘big-game player’ for Arsenal

Well, former Arsenal player and talkSPORT pundit Adrian Clarke has been singing the praises of Jorginho.

Clarke has been hugely impressed by how well Jorginho has been playing lately. The pundit thinks that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will keep him in the team for now.

Arsenal will face Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the Premier League before the season ends, and Clarke thinks that Jorginho will play in them all.

Clarke said on talkSPORT (6:45 am, February 27, 2024): “I thought Jorginho was also brilliant in the game at the weekend. He has become Mikel Arteta’s big-game player, and I think the league title prospects for Arsenal will be decided by how they perform at the Etihad, how they perform at Old Trafford, how they perform at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“I have got a feeling that Jorginho is going to be drafted in for most of those games. I know Thomas Partey is coming back to fitness, but I don’t know how you can leave Jorginho out at the moment.

“He is doing a terrific job in there. He adds that extra bit of nous and experience alongside all these young players.”

My View: Jorginho could help Arsenal win Premier League title

In my opinion, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho could be a big player for the Gunners in the coming weeks and months.

I think that the former Chelsea midfielder is a player who could make a massive difference for Arsenal in the big games.

Jorginho may not start in each and every match, but when he plays against the top teams, he makes Arsenal better. He was superb against Newcastle United.

The former Napoli star slows the game down in the middle of the park and allows Arsenal time to regroup and ‘think’.

When Jorginho plays, Arsenal are calmer and more disciplined. They are not fazed by their opponents. Kai Havertz thinks that he is world class.

Jorginho has a wealth of experience. The midfielder has made 173 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored 21 goals and given seven assists in those games.
