Fernando Tissone has told Calciomercato.it the ‘best choice’ for reported Arsenal transfer target Mauro Icardi is now leaving Paris Saint-Germain for a club that better suits his style.
Icardi has continued to endure frustration after frustration at Le Parc des Princes this term under Mauricio Pochettino. The 29-year-old has started just 10 of his 23 Ligue 1 outings so far, while also opening zero Champions League ties and only playing 46 minutes in Europe.
Pochettino last started the forward in a French top-flight fixture on January 23, as well. He has since given Icardi five appearances from Les Parisiens’ subsequent seven games, for a mere 55 minutes. His longest outing since the winter market was his last at 21 minutes.

Naturally, playing so little has seen Icardi struggle to give Paris Saint-Germain a goal threat, scoring five across all competitions. Four of his strikes have come in Ligue 1 matches, with three also coming during their opening six fixtures – of which the eight-cap ace played five.
Pochettino rarely believing in the £51m former Inter Milan star created an avenue for him to leave in January. Calciomercato.it report Juventus sounded out his return to Italy before landing Dusan Vlahovic. Fiorentina and Roma may also target moves for him this summer.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United may additionally offer Icardi a route from Paris Saint-Germain to the Premier League during the summer transfer window. Sevilla and Real Betis could also offer La Liga action, with Icardi willing to consider a lower pay for minutes.

Mauro Icardi told ‘best choice’ is leaving Paris Saint-Germain with Arsenal keen
Icardi’s former Sampdoria teammate Tissone would urge the forward to leave Paris Saint-Germain, with Arsenal, Sevilla, Juventus et al interested in a possible summer transfer. He believes his €9m-a-year (£146k-a/w) compatriot must now join a club that suits his style.
“He is in a team that is not suitable for him. It is more difficult to put it into that pattern,” Tissone said. “The best choice would be to find another accommodation, another team, because he is a very strong player.”
