Darren Bent has defended Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford on Twitter after fellow talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara criticised the England international striker.
Bamford made his debut for England against Andorra in the 2022 World Cup qualifier yesterday.
The 28-year-old striker had a disappointing debut and was substituted in the second half.
England went on to win the game 4-0 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder O’Hara has criticised Bamford on talkSPORT this morning, as you can see below.
Bent, a former Tottenham striker who also works as a pundit for talkSPORT, has strongly defended the ex-Nottingham Forest and Chelsea striker, who cost Leeds £7 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018, as reported by Sky Sports.

Yes, Bamford was not at his best yesterday, but that does not mean that he did not deserve his call-up to the England team.
It is not easy for any player to do well on their debut.
True, the match was against Andorra, but England could not create chances for Bamford when he was on the pitch.
And let’s not forget that Bamford scored 17 goals in the Premier League last season.
