The Sun are reporting this evening that Arsenal have agreed to pay £50 million for Ben White and will beat Chelsea to his signature.
What’s the story?
It is being reported by The Sun that Arsenal are on the verge of signing White from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Gunners have agreed to pay the Seagulls the £50 million they want for the former Leeds United loanee.
Arsenal have had two offers of £40 million and £42 million for the former Leeds United loanee rejected.
White has agreed personal terms with Arsenal and will sign a five-year contract with the Gunners.
The 23-year-old central defender will undergo a medical and then officially sign the deal after he is back from holiday.
White was part of the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020.

The report has added that Chelsea made a late move for the youngster, who can also operate as a right-back or as a midfielder.
Victory for Arsenal
White may have played just one season in the Premier League, but Chelsea’s reported interest in the 23-year-old shows just how good he is and can be in the coming years.
That the youngster – described as “fantastic” by Arsenal legend Ian Wright on ITV (7:10pm, June 6, 2021) – is joining the Gunners ahead of Chelsea is a big victory for Arteta’s side.
After all, Chelsea will challenge for the Premier League title next season and also won the Champions League in 2020-21.
Arsenal are a big club and a global brand, and their pull remains.
