Famous actor Ben Stiller has named the defining moment of the New York Knicks’ 2026 Championship run.
The Knicks breezed through the Eastern Conference before facing the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
Mike Brown’s team then defeated Victor Wembanyama and company in five games to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
It was not only the Knicks’ first championship in 53 years, but also one of the greatest moments in modern NBA history.

The play Ben Stiller says defines the New York Knicks’ championship run
Knicks superfan Ben Stiller cannot think of a greater moment in the franchise’s history than OG Anunoby’s game-winner in Game 4 of the Finals against the Spurs.
The play summed up Anunoby’s contributions to the Knicks since he was traded from the Toronto Raptors.
He may not be a superstar like Jalen Brunson or an All-Star like Karl-Anthony Towns, but the forward is extremely valuable.
Anunoby does a little bit of everything, and the Knicks certainly would not have won the championship without him.
“The OG tip-in was one of the most glorious moments ever; the most iconic moment in New York Knicks basketball history,” Stiller said on the Road Trippin’ Show.
“It’s up there with Willis Reed coming out. And what’s so great about that shot is that it just embodies everything great about OG Anunoby as a player. His physical ability, his incredible timing, his grace, his desire to win…
“I just love that guy because he’s just not about anything other than just playing as well as he can and winning. And the grace and beauty of that shot, it’s the hand of God, hand of OG.”
Given that it helped end the Knicks’ 73-year title drought, it is difficult to disagree with Stiller’s take on Anunoby’s tip-in.
The only thing preventing it from being considered the greatest play in NBA history is that it happened in the penultimate game of the Finals.
