Ben Davies responded to Sky Sports when asked who is the best trainer he has played alongside, responding by naming Tottenham’s main main – Harry Kane. The England skipper is back to his best under Antonio Conte.
Kane, 28, has been sensational of late. He picked up the Premier League’s March player of the month award, and has scored seven goals in his last eight games – as well as creating four more. He is at the top of his game.
That comes after one of his worst bouts of form in recent years during the first half of the campaign. Perhaps affected by a failed move to Manchester City, Kane has since jetted upwards under Conte and Spurs sit fourth.
Davies was asked a series of questions – naming Christian Eriksen as one of his best friends in football. He was also asked about the best trainer he has trained alongside – and named Tottenham’s no.10, calling him “relentless”.
“I’d give it to Harry Kane. Someone like Harry has got all the quality in the world, but you see that he’s got it because of how hard he’s worked. He doesn’t stop now – he’s relentless,” Davies said, when discussing Kane.
Davies on Kane: Can striker fire Tottenham into the top four?
Without a doubt, if he can stay fit. Kane has been known to pick up an injury here and there at times in recent seasons, but he looks fitter than ever under Conte. In this form, Spurs look almost unbeatable.
They came from behind to beat Manchester City, and they have scored five goals against Newcastle and Everton apiece. Now sitting in fourth, Arsenal are on level points but have a game in hand. But that is away to Chelsea.
Kane can fire Spurs into the top four, and with a decent run-in between now and the summer – you would expect Spurs to win more than they lose and draw.
