Nottingham Forest picked up just their third win since early December as they beat Rotherham 2-0 at the City Ground.
Ben Brereton has taken to Twitter to comment after making his full debut for Nottingham Forest in their win over Rotherham United on Tuesday night.

The 17-year-old made his professional debut in the club’s previous game as he played the final 14 minutes of the defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road, and caretaker manager Gary Brazil decided to go one better this time around by handing the youngster a start against Rotherham.

And while he was unable to get onto the scoresheet, Brereton would have undoubtedly enjoyed the experience as Forest eased their concerns about relegation with a 2-0 victory with both goals – which came from Britt Assombalonga – coming while the prospect was on the pitch before his substitution to a standing ovation in the 76th minute.
After the game, Brereton took to social media to thank the supporters after his first appearance in the starting line-up, and they subsequently responded to the youngster.
Despite Brazil choosing to use the youngster, it may not be that great a surprise if he finds himself out of the squad after their Championship clash with Aston Villa this weekend due to the business that Forest did on deadline day.
Ross McCormack
The club managed to sign two forwards during the final hours of the window with Ross McCormack joining on loan from this weekend’s opponents – so will not feature – while Zach Clough signed a four-and-a-half year deal at the City Ground following a permanent switch from Bolton Wanderers (via BBC Sport).
And with Assombalonga’s performance against Rotherham suggesting that he could be starting to find some good form, Brereton may find himself slightly further down the pecking order, but it is safe that his full debut did his first-team prospects no harm at all.
