Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal having a goal controversially ruled out against Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester striker could not believe that Leandro Trossard’s goal for Arsenal in the first half against the Foxes was ruled out by VAR.
Trossard, who joined Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window, found the back of the net for the Gunners inside the opening 30 minutes.
Danny Ward’s punch only half-cleared the Arsenal corner.
It came to the Belgium international winger on the edge of the box.
Trossard curled it towards the far corner.
It was a lovely finish.

However, VAR got involved.
Referee Craig Pawson came to check the pitchside monitor, and he ruled that Ben White committed a foul on Ward.
Now, while Lineker is happy and relieved that the goal was ruled out, the BBC Match of the Day presenter does not think that VAR should have got involved, as it was, in his opinion, not a clear and obvious error.
