Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after Duncan Castles reported that they’re looking at Julen Lopetegui as a candidate to be their next manager.
Tottenham have been linked with a number of top bosses in recent months, but now it seems as though the Sevilla boss is firmly in their sights.
Indeed, Castles reports that Lopetegui is a name Spurs are working on, and as you can imagine, this update has sparked something of a reaction from the fanbase.
Tottenham fans were actually very happy to see these links emerge, and we can understand why.
Lopetegui’s CV is exceptional. He’s the former Spain manager and an ex-Real Madrid boss, and while those jobs didn’t quite work out in the way he’d hoped, you don’t get those roles unless you have something about them.
At the moment, the Spaniard is in charge of Sevilla, and he led them to a Europa League triumph in 2020, proving his acumen as a tactician.
