Celtic crashed out of the Scottish Cup after an extra-time winner from Fashion Sakala saw the Bhoys lose 2-1 at Hampden Park.

The Hoops have been on a tear in 2022 under Ange Postecoglou, yet Celtic were unable to take their Scottish Premiership form into Easter Sunday’s semi-final against Rangers despite going 1-0 up in the second-half.

With Celtic on the winning side of the last two Old Firms, the Hoops were strong favourites to once again claim victory against Rangers, and Greg Taylor gave the Hoops hope that another win was on the cards.

The 24-year-old defender fired Celtic ahead with what was Taylor’s third-ever professional goal, with the fullback sending half of a packed Hampden Park into raptures with his well-placed finish.

However, despite the huge goal, Celtic were unable to keep hold of their lead as Rangers quickly equalised in normal time before Sakala fired the Bears ahead in extra-time.

Indeed, the late goal was a killer blow for Celtic, who could have gone on to win the tie had Rangers taken the game to penalties. Yet despite the gut-punch result, fans on social media were impressed with Taylor.
