Spain U21 star Dani Olmo has been linked with Premier League powerhouses Liverpool after a fine season with Dinamo Zagreb.
There is currently no team in the Premier League who do transfers better than Liverpool.
In the last few years, Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and many, many more have arrived at Anfield as budding, young hopefuls before transforming into established, world class performers under the steely gaze of Jurgen Klopp.
And, on yesterday’s evidence, Dani Olmo has all the raw talent required to follow in the footsteps of Salah, Mane and co on Merseyside.
Croatian publication Svijet Kladjenja reported late last year that the Dinamo Zagreb winger was on Liverpool’s radar and now might be the perfect time to step up their interest with Olmo valued at an affordable £23 million (Calciomercato).
A one-time Barcelona wonderkid who scored 12 goals and produced nine assists last season, firing Zagreb to the Croatian league title, Olmo took his staggering club form onto the international stage for Spain’s U21s.
Included in the starting XI against Belgium on Wednesday after being left out against Italy, Olmo opened the scoring inside just seven minutes with a lovely cushioned finish which showcased his ruthless quality in the final third and outstanding technical ability. His overall display was chock-full of intelligent passes and great movement in the attack.
The watching world went mad on Twitter – and you can almost guarantee that Olmo’s display didn’t pass Liverpool by.
